FIRST PLACE

For the first time this season the Phillies are alone in first place. Although it definitely did not come easy. The entire game was pretty up and down but the Phils did lead the entire game so I was never really on suicide watch, like most times when we are trailing. Shane Victorino continued his hot hitting going 4 for 5 with a homer, a double, and 3 RBIs also pushing his hitting streak to 14 games now. Victorino is now batting .308 on the season. Myers pitched well enough for a win with the way the offense was hitting on all cylinders although he kind of lost it in the 6th inning and couldn’t finish, but Eyre picked him up nicely. Lidge came in for the 9th in a non-save situation and promptly let Pujols take him realllly deep for a home run and flashbacks of the 2005 NLCS, but retired the next 3 to end the game. So when all was said and done the Phils came home with the W and first place. Good night.

DOUCHE OF THE DAY: KHALIL GREENE

Your face looks like a shoe and your hair is completely foolish. You should have stuck to acting, douche.

  1. Gonzo

I kinda think he looks like Ellen Degeneres.

  2. Khalil is rather unfortunate-looking.

Myers’s 12-6 was looking brilliant at times tonight. He also managed to not get too shaken after getting lit up a little bit. Plus, a scoreless 1st is an added bonus, and very encouraging.

  3. I have no idea what to make the Weekly Poll. Maybe “Is Raul Ibanez a beast?” with the answer selections being either yes or yes.
