Phillies: Hamels got off to a shaky start in his first game, giving up seven runs on 11 hits in 3 2/3 innings against the Rockies last week. Hamels had battled some arm problems in the spring and didn’t pitch Opening Day, but has repeatedly insisted that he’s fine. Hamels was the MVP in the Phillies’ World Series victory over the Rays last fall and is looking to get back to that form.

Padres: Young went seven strong innings against the Giants in his last start, allowing just four hits and one unearned run in a 6-1 win. He walked one and struck out seven. Young retired the first 12 batters before giving up a single to Bengie Molina in the fifth inning. In his first start of the season, he retired nine of the first 11 batters he faced and struck out four in the first three innings. He had five strikeouts in that game, in which he pitched six innings, allowing five hits and two runs while walking two. Young has shown that his Cactus League play didn’t matter much, as he had a 12.96 ERA. He didn’t get his second victory last season until his sixth start.

Young has pitched really well this season so far and as for Hamels well…not so much. Hopefully Hamels gets back on track and rips through this Padres lineup. I am going to the game today and hopefully I can make it through the Harry tributes before the game with dry eyes, but I doubt it. OK poll, Douche of the Day, then leaving for the game…

Douche of the Day…

Who the hell are you? It took me 20 minutes to find a picture of you on google, douche.

  1. Douche of the Day should have been Jimmy Rollins. He’s killing us!

  2. Yea he really is but it is so hard for me to make a Phillie Douche of the Day. Except Chan Ho Park. That one was easy…
