PHILLIES BATS SHOW LIFE

The Phillies beat the Rockies 8-4 last night at Coors Field as Myers looked, well…decent and the bats finally looked consistent. Howard doubled with the bases loaded, Werth tripled with men on 1st and 3rd, and Ibanez hit a solo shot. Utley had an RBI single, and so did Pete Happy; most of that coming with 2 outs as only one run was scored with less than 2 outs. Myers went 7 innings giving up 4 runs and they were all on home runs. Madson and Lidge pitched perfect innings to finish the game. It was just a great game and very fun to watch.

Today Chan Ho Park makes his official Phillies debut against the Rockies and Aaron Cook. Cook got rocked in his first start Opening Day but I wouldn’t count on him doing that again, although the Phillies have been very successful against him in the past. He is 1-4 with a 6.14 ERA career against the Fightins.

The Good: The Phillies pitching staff has allowed 12 BB which is the fewest in the MLB to this point.

The Bad: They have also allowed 12 HRs which is the most in the MLB.

It would be real nice to have a laugher of a ball game for the first time this year. Put up an 8 spot on Cook in the first 🙂

Do I get a prize for being the 25th visitor? Go Sillies!

  3. As a matter of fact you do! Keep an eye on your mail for a Wes Helms signed ball! Just kidding, I would never do that to you…

  4. Gonzo

I would put it on my mantle next to the ball signed by Kevin Sefcik

    Re: the DotD…

Does anyone else want to drive a fork into their brain when the Colorado fans do that ridiculous Tulowitzki chant?

    Clap clap…clapclapclap…clapclapclapclap Tu-lo!

  6. Exactly why I put that Lynniemac. I can’t fucking stand it! He was DotD and also made the last out…
