HAMELS THROWS AND TODAY’S LINEUP

COLE IS STILL QUESTIONABLE FOR OPENING DAY

COLE IS STILL QUESTIONABLE FOR OPENING DAY

Cole Hamels threw a bullpen session this morning in Clearwater and said he feels fine. He took a 5 minute break in between sessions to simulate time off between innings. Normally, he said, it takes less then that for his elbow to begin swelling. Good news aside he still is not on track to start Opening Day and with it only being 2 weeks from tomorrow it doesn’t look like that news will change. From here Hamels plans on pitching in a minor league game Tuesday followed by Grapefruit League start March 29th and starting in the on deck series against the Tampa Bay Rays April 3rd, which won’t put him on track to start Opening Day on April 5th. This is all also assuming he feels no pain and there are no set backs.

Chan Ho Park is also ailing. He was scheduled to start today against the Twins but tweaked his left hamstring and won’t be able to pitch today. Instead kyle Kendrick will pitch (vomit). Here is today’s lineup from The Zo Zone:

1. Miguel Cairo, SS
2. Greg Dobbs, RF
3. Chase Utley, 2B
4. Ryan Howard, 1B
5. John Mayberry Jr., CF
6. Matt Stairs, LF
7. Pedro Feliz, 3B
8. Chris Coste, C
9. Kyle Kendrick, P
