BRETT MYERS TAKES ON MATT CHICO IN OPENER
Well it’s finally here. It seems like just yesterday we watched the Phils get swept in the NLDS and our world series hopes smashed into oblivion. Today brings a new beginning and hope of anything but another slow start. The Nationals shocked the Braves last night when Ryan Zimmerman hit a walk off solo home run to win the game in the 10th. It amazes me that Odalis Perez actually had the opening day nod. When was the last time he had an ERA under 5.50? 1985? The only question today is who is starting in right? Geoff Jenkins is 1-4 against Chico with his only hit being a HR and Werth is 1-1 with a double and a walk. Who do you say starts? Tradition says Jenkins, platoon says Werth. Anyway I will be at the game today sitting in right field hopefully not getting rained on all day because I can’t stand rain on opening day, it is completely unacceptable. So when I get home today I will write an extensive post about either how happy I am or how undeniably raging pissed off want to swear the season off angry I am. So HAPPY OPENING DAY!!!
